South Circle Farm

2048 South Meridian Street
Indianapolis, IN  46225

In the past couple of years, the popularity of backyard gardens, farmer's markets, and a general understanding where our food comes from has grown considerably.  Join with other alumni and friends as we partner with a local farm in its second season growing in downtown Indy for this year's volunteer project.

This will be a great opportunity to learn while also helping an organization that is giving back to our community.  South Circle Farm grows veggies, berries, herbs, and plants using only organic methods.  This means amending the soil with compost, organic fertilizers, and covering the rotating crops to balance the nutrients while avoiding diseases and pests.  In addition to growing crops, the farmer conducts classes for kids at Concord Neighborhood Center and provides vouchers to the center's clients and families to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables.

The project is rain or shine and will take place outside.  Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening/work gloves if they have them!
